The essential role of the Ocean in climate regulation will be presented to the public through exhibitions, scientific conferences and films.

In the lead up to the 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference / COP 21, major contemporary artists from around the world are mobilizing action around climate change and desertification through art projects to be displayed in public spaces of “Greater Paris”, stretching from the Paris city center to the Conference site, in Le Bourget. During the event, a charity auction of artworks from the art projects will be conducted by the premier International Auction House, Christie’s, together with the United Nations, in support of actions against climate change and desertification. Sustainability driven corporations are being approached to support each art project and artwork production for the event.

An art collection, on the topic of natural sciences will be presented at Jardin des Plantes and Natural History Museum National (MNHN). To realize this event the FIAC (Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain) joins COAL (Coalition pour l’art et le développement durable) and the MNHN to set up a conference cycle on art and science. COAL will present three panels discussions on the theme of “New Era”: Anthropocene sciences and arts. In each panels they will have dialogues around the interactions between art and science (22-23-24 october, 6pm-8pm)
